2011 Honda CR-V that needs a head gasket!
- Car turns on and drives, but is currently in 'limp' mode, so it won't rev higher than about 1500rmp.
- OBDII scanner shows misfires in cylinders 2 and 3.
- Bought new OEM spark plugs in case they were the cause (also for sale - check my other listings!), but problem remained after spark plug replacement.
- Changed positions of all fuel injectors and all ignition coils, but problem persists with misfires in cylinders 2 and 3.
- Finally brought it to mechanic, who said the misfires are due to bad head gasket.
Engine actually runs great - confirmed by clearing the engine codes, which allows the vehicle to run like normal, but after about 10-15 seconds, the car goes back into 'limp mode' once the head gasket leak is detected again by the sensors.
If you know how to replace a head gasket in one of these SUVs, or if you're a mechanic looking for parts, this is the perfect car for you!
