Selling my beloved Nissan Xterra. I planned on driving this thing until it wouldn't drive anymore but life is changing and the time has come to downsize. She's not as pretty as she once was but there's still plenty of life left in her. Rolled over 300,000 km yesterday.
The good:
- A true body-on-frame 4x4, the very best of the modern era until the new bronco came along.
- MANUAL TRANSMISSION
- Locking rear diff (in 4-low)
- Rockford Fosgate 7 channel system w/in-dash 6 CD changer - Sounds incredible!
- Newish clutch, replaced at 250,000
The bad:
- The body. There's a crunch in the rear quarter, rust is setting in in different areas and the paint is flaking off all over the place
- It'll need tires in the not too distant future
- I spilled some solvent in the back a couple weeks ago and it still smells a bit, sorry
Currently registered in Alberta, had an out of province inspection done in 2020 (maybe 2021?) and it passed with flying colours. It's only seen about 60,000 km since then, mostly going back and forth between Calgary and Vancouver. Mechanically very solid. It has only ever seen synthetic oil (Castrol EDGE or Mobil1).
I love this thing, it's taken me across the country a few times, been over the rockies at least 50 times and gone up countless forest service roads to hidden away fishing holes. These are really special vehicles and I hope it finds a good owner.
Need it gone asap as I no longer have anywhere to park it. Throw an offer at me.
